I was a little confused by this and "When The Wind Blows" until I realized they were adult versions and the premise of the Maximum Ride Series. Then I realized they had been written before the Maximum Ride series. If you love Maximum Ride just stick with the young adult series. The main bird/children are here and trying to be a family. Of course an evil scientist is after them. The story is action packed but I was a little uncomfortable with the more adult language and actions (again because of the ages of the main characters). This and "When The Wind Blows" have similar story lines so I will let this be my review for both. If you have never read Maximum Ride these two books are a quick reads.
