really liked it
bookshelves: memoirs
Read in March, 2009 — I own a copy

A beautiful sentence in this book:

"I breathe the night, go to bed with the rest of my pack, and wake up in the morning with a sawed-off past and a future I can't imagine."

I could relate to that line.

Bill I'm quite surprised you gave this 4 stars. It really seemed the antithesis of your story. I was really put off by her seemingly happier being without her husband.

Rosemary I know where you are coming from. I think a person's level of disability plays into how people deal with managing their feelings and reaction to life changes. Sometimes caregivers pull back, some lean forward, and others withdraw. I think she was honest. I appreciate honesty.

Bill Agreed, but I felt her main concern were her dogs, which I found quite sad.
