Upon reading the summary on the back of the book, I did not think A Bend in the River was the book for me.
I was so very wrong. This novel takes you into a world entirely unlike the one I've grown up in. It really opened my eyes to the ways other people have lived and their own hardships and love triangles and heartache for a home that no longer exists.
I will definitely be reading more V.S. Naipaul in the future!
