A dramatic and often surreal account of a woman born into the FLDS, a radical polygamist Carolyn Jessop had so much taken away from her that she was unaware of, it was tragic to read. Once a firm believer in polygamy, living with her hateful husband who clearly preferred one wife over the other five made her doubt so many things in her life. Carolyn had 8 children in 15 years (each pregnancy was difficult and the last four life-threatening) and was her husband's sexual pawn in a game against the other six wives and he used mind games to punish her and her children. The list of grievances and situations she lived thru under the rule of her "priesthead" husband is too long to enumerate and I'm glad she had the courage and strength not only to get out but to take all her children with her.
