I had heard a lot about this book, especially by my mother who claims that it's one of the scariest - if not THE scariest - books she has ever read. So of course I was intrigued. Then when I found out the murders actually happened...well, let's just say I was very happy to get this book as an Easter present. I found the book very well written. Truman Capote presents the facts, details, and testimonies of a real case as if it was a novel he had created out of his own head. In this way, the book never gets boring (except, sadly, near the end when details of the case were just too long and boring to handle. I got through it, but the momentum was lost for a little bit). I also liked how Capote gives equal time to both sides of the case. The book could easily be divided into the story of Dick and Perry, and the story of the Clutters and the KBI trying to find the killers.
