I loved this book, primarily because I have loved the character of Nick Gentry since his story first began in Book 2. He is dangerous and intelligent, and every bit as successful as a Bow Street Runner as he had been previously as a notorious criminal. This is the kind of man who people both admire and fear.

Nick's love interest is a woman named Lottie, who is actually someone he was sent to hunt down. She ran away from her family in order to avoid an arranged marriage and has been hiding ever since. When Nick finds her, she is working at the Westcliff estate (a wonderful connection to the LK's Wallflower series). Nick offers her protection in exchange for her hand in marriage, meaning that she could escape marrying the horrible man her family had promised her to. We can only hope that this marriage of convenience will result in a love match one day....

As with the other Bow Street books, there is plenty of action and intrigue in this book to go along with the romance. Highly recommended for fans of historical romance, particularly for those who like to cheer for the dark horse heros and/or who like a little intrigue with your romance.
