Didn't need all the economics justifications but filled with many interesting facts about pirates like how no-one was forced to walk the plank (real tortures were much more gruesome in order to create a fearsome reputation) and that an elected pirate captain wasn't necessarily the most powerful pirate on a ship (on some ships that was the elected quartermaster) and they usually received at most only twice as much as the lowest paid pirates (two shares versus one share of the booty).
