I can't really figure out where to categorize this book. Smooshing together Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, The Portrait of Dorian Grey and The Raiders of the Lost Ark , Ms. Bebris creates a light historical romance/supernatural pastiche. The story was fairly well written, although the plot was telegraphed early on. It was a light read for a lazy summer afternoon, and that is all I wanted or expected.
