Sorry, no, imo this doesn't really count as 'Time Travel' because it seems more like 591 pp of gothic romance or something. Not for me.

Monya I've read it but in spite of Anya Seton's writing, which is always good, found it too dark for my liking. My favourite Seton is "The Turquoise", possibly because it felt like real things happening to real people. Very moving.

I also liked her "modern" (1930s!) novel "Foxfire". Same reason, great writing and felt real.
