I finished Washington and I consider this to be the very best biography I've read since I read Stonewall Jackson by James I Robertson. In fact, this is a best biography by far!
I have been reading a great deal of material on Lincoln and after reading Washington, I'm convinced that great men, or women have special traits of leadership, endurance against adversity, and a clear vision of their goals. I recommend Chernow's Washington for the following reasons: 1) great use of source material; 2)being able to give an incredible view of the best and the worst of personalities surrounding Washington; and 3)a clear understanding why England lost the colonies.
