My Rating: 4.5

As I had hoped at the end of The Duke And I, Anthony proved in fact to be a very interesting and amusing character, as reformed rakes often are.

I enjoyed his story a lot and his relationship with the strong-willed Kate was very intense and a lot of fun to read (some of the scenes were so hilarious they should be declared illigal. And the banter! They surely were a funny couple.)

A fact that surprised and pleased me was that the ending, often rushed and overly simplified in the romance genre, was a lot more credible than other ones I've read, and it was something I really appreciated.

I have to say something about the fabulous writing: Julia Quinn managed to make my heart jump in my chest every two pages or so, which is, in my opinion, the very proof of her gift in writing.
