My husband is a BIG inspector Rebus fan. He picked this audio book out to listen to while in the car during our beach trip. This is my first book - but I've watched several episodes of the TV series. The actor who portrays John Rebus and the actress who plays the part of Siobhan Clark have captured these characters precisely.

The plot starts out all jumbled and you feel as if there were things revealed in previous books that you should know about and need in order to follow the convoluted details. But as I've had it explained to me - that is to be expected in all these books.

I love the subtle dark humor and the underlying tension of the relationships. I also love the unpredictability. But I could do without the initial confusion. I tend to wander if I don't catch on.
