I picked Commuters up on impulse at a recent literary festival, mostly because I liked the title and the fact that the author was from Chicago. I am so glad I did! The book was wonderful - emotionally engaging, vivid characters, and it just seemed so very real. Parts were a little disjointed, but I liked that and thought it added to the overall mood; life is often disjointed. The last third of the book brought all the pieces together beautifully. I look forward to reading this again soon, as well as future novels by Tedrowe.
