This is the story of the dog that the Russians sent into space in 1957. There are fictional embellishments, providing a backstory prior to her selection from a Moscow animal shelter, but the core of this story lies in the dog's experiences while being prepared for the Sputnik 2 mission and in the conflicting emotional responses of the scientists running the program. And the artwork is beautiful; Nick Abadzis has a marvelous sense of layout in particular.
