bookshelves: christian, classic, favorites
Read in November, 2008

The book blurb says that this book was Waugh's evocation of the crumbling and irresponsibilities of England's noble families in the 1920-1930's, but never mentioned that this is a religious book. Waugh himself said that the book was about grace winning souls. The book has outstanding character development and believable resolution!

Evelyn Waugh
“I should like to bury something precious in every place where I've been happy and then, when I'm old and ugly and miserable, I could come back and dig it up and remember.”
