really liked it

as the title suggests, there is a lot of stuff in this novel about horses, but also a lot about growing up quickly in an unforgiving world. and also about a world and way of life that are no longer. my friend Mike, who recommended the road, which i thought was incredible, told me that he didn't like this book very much. weeks later, he told me that he'd stopped reading after 100 pages because nothing happens.

well, things sure happen, you just have to wait for them. i, personally, found the book very engaging throughout (though i wish i knew any spanish). the writing doesn't get totally totally beautiful, though, until the last 50 or so pages. Cormac is becoming a favorite, i think.
