Overall I really liked this conclusion to the second trilogy of Kushiel's Legacy, although for whatever reason I found it harder to get invested in this than I had the previous novels for the first half of the book. Possibly because the beginning is weighed down with a ridiculous number of sex scenes--I know the kinky sex scenes go with the territory in this series, but it seemed like there was a lot more this round than before until the main action kicked in! Luckily, there was plenty of plot to take over, and the plot this round was pretty entertaining.

I really have come to love Imriel as a protagonist--it's amazing to see how much he'd grown from when he was first introduced into the original trilogy, and even in this trilogy he's come a long way in growing. Sidonie was also great, and watching the two characters develop and grow was well worth the hefty page-count!

The ending was drawn out a lot longer than seemed necessary, but I did like the way everything turned out and am definitely looking forward to the new book in this universe coming out later this summer! In the end, while I do have some quibbles with it I did love it!
