really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction
Recommended for: anyone who eats.
Read in April, 2008

This is a much easier introduction to Michael Pollan's extensive research on the state of the Western diet and the food industry, and would serve as a great "gateway" book, if you will, to "The Omnivore's Dilemma."

Much thinner and lighter on the deep dark research he has done, "In Defense of Food" will pique your interest for his lengthier work, if it interests you at all.

I plan to type up a list of his eating guidelines and post them everywhere I eat to remind myself that we are all voting with our food choices every single day of the year.
