This book is a series of beautiful anecdotal accounts of life living in northern remote australia (out bush) and a thoughtful reference to the aftermath of the stolen generation. Hooper obviously sympathized with the communities lot, but also made reference to the plight of those working within the region, being isolated from both family and friends. This is a subjective account of just one aboriginal mans life, one of many that ends in custody.
