Not a real deep book, but a look at life in 2079, the 200th anniversary of the lava flow of Pompeii. This shows where the present changes are leading us, after the big volcanic eruption of Yellowstone that covered large parts of the continental US in volcanic ash. Brad Sheridan leaves his family in the Midwest to travel to Egypt as an indentured person. The story encourages the reader to reflect on the trajectory that life is on and reflect on the possibilties.
