The most meaningful idea I read in this book was about how determined Bird was to find her step father Cecil, and when she finally saw him after all the time a part she didn't talk to him. This shows that sometimes we think we are ready for things but really not. If I put my self in Birds shoe's I think i would feel left out. I would feel this way because Cecil was the one person who didn't leave me out of anything, but since he left it felt as if no one really cared about me except my mom. This idea is meaningful to me because sometimes we are ready for things but we really are not. This can happen in situations like taking a test, or meeting someone.
