This is a very thorough exciting textbook that my online class will enjoy, I am sure! This book goes into great detail about young adult genres, authors, librarians, the teen reader, and the many themes and issues in YA lit today. In many chapters there are technology links, literary theory, and author spotlights. Ernest Bond has a helpful book for pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, media specialists and students providing a current experience for readers as it offers a look at the newest and best offerings of literature available for teens, ages 10-18. Highly recommmended.

So far I am really enjoying it---I just finished Michael Cart's book
and it was much slimmer but great reading and information--so it will take me awhile since I read my fiction books and then just a few pages of the professional books.
Graduate students, Library Science cert, English or Reading....I teach it online in the fall annually.
do you mind if I ask what textbook do you use? I would like to purchase it to get started. Also, is there a link to your progam's/school's website so I can bookmark it for next Fall? Thanks again -
I used 2 textbooks, this one Michael Cart's Young Adult Literature, From Romance to Realism and Ernest Bond's Literature and the Young Adult Reader (and also readings...from their library and journals)The school webiste is http://www.arcadia.edu/
and this online class started end of August and will end Dec 20.
