I'd read Dreams of Trespass and I loved it. Then I saw this book on the sale table at a local bookstore. I'd seen it online but when it was there in front of me, on a SALE TABLE!!! you guys, I just couldn't resist.
I really enjoyed this book. Although some parts of it are a bit redundant, I love Fatema Mernissi--the way she writes, the things she thinks. It was very interesting and I learned a lot while enjoying it and being so caught up in it I was surprised when I came to the end. :( The climax of the whole thing was, for me, not all that surprising, having known myself how the West does indeed keep women oppressed through "culture" and the image.
