In the third book of the Hush, Hush series, Nora finds herself in a confusing conundrum when she forgets the past five months of her life. The victim of a veiled kidnapping, nobody really knows where she went or who took her. As she tries to adapt to her changed environment, she slowly and steadily stumbles upon more clues about her forgotten past - including a deadly struggle, and an unforgettable stranger.

Ah, Silence. Not a bad book, but one that makes me feel like I rated its two predecessors too highly. On one hand, the storyline did entertain me. On the other, it didn't really provide me with anything amazing. I felt like the plot's problems mostly arose from Nora's mistakes, and that if she hadn't acted so impulsively, such conflicts could have been avoided.

Nora herself was rather bland in this book. I enjoyed her character's fight against amnesia, as well as she how she did act her age. Sometimes young-adult female protagonists are too perfect, but Nora was rather average in that she did complain, though not excessively. She even admits to this...

"I didn't doubt it. Vee never needed a reason to do something stupid. Sad thing was, most of the time I didn't either."

Unfortunately, the entire book was just too ordinary for me. The scheming antagonists, Nora's hilarious best friend Vee, and even the romance between Nora and Patch fell flat. It's not like the book was bad, it simply did not capture me. I hope that Fitzpatrick pulls off a killer finale and finishes her first YA series on a good note.
