My favorite book as a child, I used to check Ronia out from the school library about once a month, until Mom finally gave it to me for my birthday. I recently read it aloud to Johanna, and we both enjoyed the interactions of the characters and creatures. I always found the pure, untarnished nature in the forest that Ronia calls home so romantic and alluring. Also, the love and dilemma that Ronia feels about her father Matt and friend Birk is quite engaging and touching. Unforgettable characters and adventures.
