The Making of Us is a nice little book. As always, when I read Lisa Jewell, I was drawn to the characters and found myself thinking about them when I wasn't reading. especially Lydia, whom I loved instantly. But The Making of Us is also a very predictable book, and it all comes together a little too nicely, not just in the end, but throughout the book. Adversity never feels adverse enough, and the only real emotion it stirred in me, was a bit of anger at Dean, who I was mentally kicking in the ass to get off his butt and do something!
My recommendation: read to be entertained.
