The only phrase that comes to mind is "absolutely delightful" That about covers it! I gave this to my mom when it came out because it sounded like the type of book she'd enjoy. I finally got around to reading it now.

Juliet was a treat of a character. The various literature mentioned throughout are gems and some made me want to read them all over again. The novel was a great read for this summer.

It reminded me of another charming book 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Both take form through letter writing, both right around a major war, and both have a passion for literature.
