It was nice to listen to the first in the Mitch Rapp series, having already gone through Consent to Kill. I had no idea that Anna Riley was also introduced here, so that was nice.

The story was pretty good. I have a hard time distinguishing issues regarding poor writing or poor editing when the audiobook is abridged (another reason why I just prefer unabridged audiobooks). The reader is pretty good, but there was little room for confusion when the conversation rarely drops the "Mitch whispered" or "Anna said", etc. While it's clear that Mr. Flynn did his homework on the layout of the White House, grounds, and other aspects regarding the Secret Service and Military, it's hard to appreciate it when it's rushed through to get to the action. (Again, may just be the abridgement.) Some further character development would have been appreciated, as would more engaging dialogue. ... It's just too bad I didn't find out about the unabridged versions coming out this summer before I bought this version.

... Then again, maybe the unabridged version is too slow and cumbersome. I guess I'll never know.

Overall, good book, but not amazing by any sense. Great to listen to when you don't have to pay real close attention.
