2011 review:I just read this book for the 2nd time and was appalled that I gave it 4 stars. It's barely a three and that's because I like the author. The plot was dumb, the morals were terrible, and the language wasn't good either. I am leaving my previous review (below), though I don't know why--I guess just to keep a record of what I've read and what I thought about the book at a different stage in my life (?)

2008 review:
OK. I loved this book! I would just give it 5 stars, except that it just seems wrong to give 5 stars to a book that's does not classify as great literature, nor does it have any thought provoking ideas. Basically it's just fun. It's one of those books you read all the way through in one or two sittings and smile the whole time. I have read all Sophie Kinsella's books and if you like escapist fiction, then try reading this author. Just a word of warning. This is a British author, and apparently there is one word used very casually in England that is really not a nice word here in America. Normally I avoid books that use this word, but, what can I say, Sophie Kinsella is one of my guilty pleasures!

Jessica Just curious - what word are you referring to? I don't remember anything jumping out at me...

Catharine I'm pretty sensitive to the "F" word.

Catharine I just finished reading this book for the 2nd time and I'm kind of amazed that I liked it so well the first time. I would change my rating to 3 stars. The book was fun, but the plot was stupid. The morals weren't great to say the least. I'm not sure where I was in my life 2 years ago that I could have given this book 4 stars.

Catharine I went back and changed the star rating to 3. I just can't leave it where it was before.
