I love everything L.M. Montgomery has written that I’ve read. She has such a lovely voice that makes you feel right at home and comfortable. She has a wonderful sense of humor and wit – and ability to write descriptive prose that’s highly enviable. That being stated, I do miss the inclusion of Anne Shirley in these stories. She’s in a few of them, but the rest had ambiguous narrators or included people who I didn’t really know how/where to place them in the Avonlea universe. Many of them were about love in some way, shape, or expression and how different people encountered, fostered, or tried to stifle it. And all were deftly written to make you smile and snuggle up a little deeper under your blanket.
