I don't like giving up the fight when I start reading a book but I've come to realize that time is precious to me and if a book doesn't catch my interest, then I'm not going to struggle through it.
I took a chance on this dystopian novel (a genre I normally shy away from) because I liked the premise. What would the world be like if water was scarce and had to be rationed?
What did me in was the flatness of the characters. From the get-go I had trouble relating. They didn't feel real to me.
Will I try another dystopian novel? I've got one more in my TBR that I'm going to give a shot. We'll see.
