I enjoyed the plot well enough, but the problem with a book with a first-person perspective is you have to enjoy the person's thoughts. Q is one of my favorite characters, but de Lancie has him going off on long tangents and unrelated stories, and eventually you just want him to get to the point. Still, I enjoyed it despite it's faults.

rivka Apparently I like Q's inner monologues more than you do. ;)

TheTick I liked the ones that were at least tangentially related to the story. And there was at least once or twice where he went off on a tangent from within another tangent.

rivka Indeed he did. I seem to recall enjoying those.

But then, I would happily listen to John deLancie read cereal boxes, and this book successfully evoked him-as-Q in my mind's ear.
