My first book by this author and tons of GR friends telling me this is a great book and a great author and I think they were right! There were a few things that bothered me about it, but they are personal book peeves. I can appreciate a good looking man no matter his age, but I could never date one, and it creeps me out a little, but I realize it's no big deal for others. I feel exactly the way Tamara did in the beginning about the age, except I don't think I could have slept with Elec without proper ID, because I am just fun like that! The other book peeve of mine is more than one kid in the story. Again, it's a personal thing, but it bothers me. This wasn't too bad, in that her kids are pretty interesting and not annoying and they actually add and help the storyline, but not my favorite thing to read about very often. Elec was a great character, too cute and very attentive, without loosing his masculine feel, which seems difficult for a lot of writers to show. I was a little disappointed we never found out the reason for the Briggs-Monroe fued, but I'm guessing that will of course be cleared up in future books. My favorite part of the book is the victory dinner party, where the author does a great job in showcasing all the different personalities without it being too much. I cannot wait for Suzanne and Ryder's book! Because of that I've already started the next in the series, Ty and Imogen's (they seem really interesting too), so I can get to Suzanne's and Ryder's faster! Would definitely reccommend this book, and this author! The nascar theme is subtle, I think, and explained and discussed in mostly simple terms anyone can understand. Go for it if you've not done so yet!

I hear great things! I have to admit, not crazy about her being older (as referenced on back cover) but I'll give it a try!
Hmmm, I wouldn't let it bother you too much...It's an issue, but I don't remember it being too big of one, and you kind of forget about it after awhile. The second book with Ty is my favorite:)
This is one of my absolute fav's and Elec is my top ever hero! I LOVE HIM! I'm not even sure their ages are an issue - I think she's about 32 and he's 25. When did 32 become older? Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, I re-read it all the time when I need something really comforting.
I like Elec a lot! I also like Tammy, but with me it's a personal thing, I have never been able to date anyone even 6 months younger, always prefer older men. It's weird, I know, but I can't help it! And 32 is not old, at least I hope not, since I'll be 34 in September! Other than the age thing, I really like it, the writing is good, and I will definitely continue on with the series, especially since Ty and Imogen are next!
Oh yes, Ty is really lovely too! Erin McCarthy writes really great men. I'm not sure that I would be all that attracted to a younger man (in theory anyway), but as I am speeding towards 32 at break neck speed I felt I had to make a stand!!
I understand Lynsey! I don't feel old, but dating a 25 year old would probably make me feel that way!
I agree, dating a 25 year old would make me feel ancient!(and i'm only 34) I was married to a man a couple years younger than me, and sometimes it didn't matter and other times I noticed the years like they were decades! And I have to say I don't think I would ever be able to do that again, plus usually I'm attracted to men at least a year or two older than me:DERin McCarthy does write really good men though doesn't she?! She reminds me of Rachel Gibson in that regard!
Elec is nice, but I really can't wait to read about Ty, and Ryder and Suzanne seem like it will be a blast!
Ty's book is my fav, but I love Ryder and Suzanne almost as much! And to be honest Evan's book surprised me at how much I ended up enjoying it!
I loved this book more than the 2nd book because it has more of a family feel to it, something that lately I've been more partial to in my reading. Ty's book was cute, but of the two I liked this one better. I'm looking forward to Ryder's book.
Guess I'm the odd shell out!lol I'm going to start the short story in
, it will hopefully answer some left over questions from Evan's book!!!
