Rune is the second in command to the Wyr Lord. He has many duties and responsibility, but still Rune likes to stay light hearted and easy going. That all changed after spending some time around the powerfully vampire, Carling . He became restless and irritable. Knowing he needed to end this attitude he went to her to complete his debt he owed her for saving his friends life. But once he got there and found out she was dying, and he knew right away he could never leave her. Even though he chose to stay, he knew it would never work between them, so some how he'd have to keep his inner Wyr under control and resist the overwhelming urge he has to mate with her.
Carling has accepted her fading. Her time has come and she is willing to go peacefully, but then this imposing Wyr came and turned her all around. How dare he care about her and tempt her with a love she can't have, or can she? If only they can stop her fading she might be able to keep her Wyr.
I enjoyed this book, I like Thea's writing. The world as always is magnificent and each character is unique and full of life.
Serpents kiss is not my favorite in the series even though I love Rune. He is sexy funny, a little dorky but all around lovable. He is the perfect alpha male. He will stop and nothing to save and keep Carling alive.
Carling was a bit dry for me she had accepted that death was upon her and was set to go peacefully then Rune came along and change things. She just wasn't warm and fuzzy like I thought Rune she have, but they seemed to work.
The overall story was good it just dragged a bit in the first half. It took a while to really get into, but Runes humor kept me going the entire time. It wasn't till the last half of the book when the action came that it got exciting.
Over all I did like the book just not my favorite in the series. If you have read the other two this one is a must read and if you haven't read this series, well then you defiantly must start it, you will absolutely love dragon bound .
