I was surprised by this book. I didn't know anything about it before picking it up (how I got an English degree and didn't hear about this book I'll never know). I would have to put this book in the same strain as 1984, Clockwork Orange, and A Brave New World. Of the distopian future books I think this is one of the simplest, most true, and best.
