Full Dark, No Stars
by Stephen King
by Stephen King
Full Dark, No Stars is made up of four novella length stories. Each story deals with the dark side of real life - murder, rape, cancer, and discovering the people you are closest to are not always who they seem.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel in these stories and one of them is nothing short of depressing. However, I really enjoyed the other three - especially the one entitled, 'Big Driver' about the woman who is raped and left for dead. I found the emotional trauma she went through to be very realistic, though the ending made the story!
If you're looking for a bit of escapism or a light read, this one definitely isn't for you. However, if you want something gritty and dark, you can't go far wrong. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the one story I really didn't like...
