Okay, let's do this...

The Book in General
I am so sorry to say this because Cassie Clare is probably my most favorite author, but I am a little disappointed with the outcome of the series. But I'm gonna rant about that later. All in all, of course, it is a wonderful book, an amazing series.

The Story
Some time has passed after the events of Clockwork Prince, and while it has been quiet, it is also obvious that another blow from Mortmain has to be expected.
After Jem's proposal to Tessa, she and Will, though being polite, feel pretty awkward around each other, with Jem as oblivious as always. Cecily's appearance doesn't exactly help Will's state of mind. He really worries about her safety. Cecily's plan, on the other hand, is to bring Will back home. Little does she know that her intention is quite hopeless and that she might like being a shadowhunter more than she let's on.
Having no other place to stay, Gabriel Lightwood joins his brother Gideon at the institute, which leads to a lot of trouble.
During an anticipated battle with Mortmain's infernal devices, Tessa is being abducted. Trying to save his fiancée, Jem runs after her, which immensely worsens his condition. With no yin fen left, Jem knows death is near. So, instead of going after Tessa himself, Jem sends his parabatai to rescue her...

The Characters
In addition to the characters we already know from the previous two books, we get to know Cecily Herondale. Being a lot like her brother, we accompany Cecily on her journey from wanting to bring Will back home to realizing her wanting to stay ... because she likes being a shadowhunter, likes the fighting, likes the adrenaline that is inextricably linked with it. And there might also be a boy...
Moreover, there was so much love in this book. Love between Tessa and Jem, Tessa and Will, Charlotte and Henry, (view spoiler), but the love that struck me the most was the love between Will and Jem. I've never seen a friendship like theirs. It totally made me cry in the end.

The Epilogue
This is why I only gave 4 stars... (view spoiler)

I am not satisfied with the ending, but that does not make it a bad book and Cassie Clare a bad author. It's still great, she's still my favorite. And I'm sure there are lots of people who loved that revelation. Not me, but who cares...?
I <3 CC!
I <3 TMI!
I <3 TID!
And I'm sure I'm gonna <3 Lady Midnight! Can't wait for it to come out in 2015!
