I liked this much better than I thought I would. The combo of sappy romance and urban fiction worked surprisingly well. The characters were believable and likeable, if a little sterotyped (as misunderstood in their roles). A Romeo and Juilet story with a satisfyingly happy ending. I love the epilogue. The 2nd in the trilogy is on this fall's Books for the Beast romance list, and I'm happy to be looking forward to reading it. I'm not surprised at all by this one's popularity. It's romance with an edge, but not a supernatural one.

I've loved the book trailer since it came out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr0OtY... ("It's a book. Es un libro, yo!") The teens on the cover of the book look more like I imagine the characters to look than the ones in the trailer do, though.
