South of Superior by Ellen Airgood is extremely well written and very enjoyable. As Madeline returns to the place she was born; she has questions without answers about why her mother left her and her grandfather refused to raise her. Luckily, she was taken in by Emily who has just passed away leaving Madeline alone and lonely. She takes a job caring for an elderly woman who is the sister of her grandfather's girlfriend. She goes there hoping for some information regarding her family and discovers a family, a home, and a renewed passion for art.

The characters are well portrayed and easy to understand. The story moves well and is totally believable. I am happy to have gotten the opportunity to read South of Superior and I hope that Ellen Airgood continues to write such captivating novels. I surely recommend everyone give this book a read.
