Updated Nancy Drew, Cameryn Mahoney has a father who is a small-town coroner instead of a barrister. Her grandmother fills the part of Hannah Gruen (both Irish). Cameryn even has a chubby, good-natured "chum" named Lyric to serve as her George/Bess and the town's deputy sheriff, Justin, to be her Ned.

I'm glad I bought this: I know several students who will enjoy it. And since it's the first in a series, maybe they will go on to read others.
