This book takes place over a 30-year period and follows a family of 4 kids and their parents. The book give you a peek into different people's lives every two years, so you get these little snapshots of their lives, and fill in the blanks about people based on what you're told and what you infer. It is a different way to tell a story and I'm still undecided how I feel about it. The book did move a little slower than I would have liked, but Thompson's language is beautiful, filled with vivid descriptions and flowing, musical language.
