The Invisible Ring (The Black Jewels, #4)

3.5 stars. Book #4 in the series, but it's a prequel to the original trilogy.
It's a good, quick read. It essentially sets up an explanation for how they did the resolution in book 3, the magic that was done. It's set up like a stand alone romance, though. There are moments when it's extremely emotionally evocative and other times when it seems a bit fluffy but I think I'm comparing it to the other books and how invested I eventually became in those characters. Unfair, I know, because I haven't had the same time to get as invested in these characters. The end felt a bit abrupt.
Anyway, it's not a bad read and it gives a bit more insight into what Daemon Sadi's earlier life was like, too (although Daemon is only a minor character in this book). I'll read the other two associated with this storyline.

You've finished the 1st trilogy? How'd you find them? ^-^

Actually I've read 1,2,3,4,5,6,and 9. First I read all the books with the same characters as the original trilogy, and I just finished the prequel. Now I'm moving to book 7 & 8, which should be the continuation of the prequel.I've enjoyed them all. I wrote a semi lengthy review of #9, kind of in response to your review, actually. I liked it, perhaps more than you did. Total game changer. Do you know if that was the last book or will there be more in the series?
