Lonely Werewolf Girl
by Martin Millar
I noticed the same proofreading problem with another novel by the same author--The Good Fairies of New York.
It seemed a shame for such a goood read to have such an unprofessional air about it.
Yeah, I'm afraid this kind of thing really annoys me.
Oddly I don't recall any such problems with his earlier books (Milk, Sulphate & Alby Starvation for instance).
I may have to investigate to see if it's down to different publishers or something?

Great fun, and very compulsive reading - raced through this :)
I love his stories, because they are very familiar - lots about London, and students, and bands playing gigs - but they also manage to include all sorts of strange stuff (werewolves for instance) that seem to fit in so well with the rest of it I can almost believe that I've met werewolves too.
However, one thing irked me about this book - it seems as though proof reading consisted largely of running a computer spell check since there were quite a few silly mistakes ('the' instead of 'then' etc...) - not a big deal, but I like to think that every word matters - so when some of them are clearly wrong it annoys me.
Shame really as it is a good book, especially to anyone that's ever been a student in London - Oh well.
