This is the most imaginative piece of literature I have read in a very long time. Granted, I do not read children's lit as a practice (what the hell is wrong with you--Harry Potter freaks?). This novel is imaginative, yet retains the substance necessary for provoking emotion from even the most stubbornly apathetic.

Not to mention--I learned a fucking LOT about animals!!

Teresa This is not children's literature. It is symbolic. The reader is able to enjoy the surface story, while those who devote more time to investigate the characters and names in this story are greatly rewarded.

Mme. Bookling ~ I wasn't classifying it as children's lit--i was making a qualifying statement about my lack of exposure to imaginative literature. I agree--not kid's lit--otherwise I wouldn't have read it.

Tell me about the findings of your investigation.
