This was my first ever Gemmell book and remains my favourite, although Legend is a close second. The character of Waylander is cleverly wrought, the man himself appears beyond redemption but in saving a priest's soul he is tarnished with goodness.
Mean, revengeful, inconsiderate to others and downright deadly - I loved him.
Will remain on my bookshelf to read, re-read and read again. Excellent.
