Robert D. Cornwall Cliff, be sure to read the Schlingensiepen bio of Bonhoeffer. It presents a much more balanced and truer to Bonhoeffer presentation.

Cliff Thanks for the tip, Bob. I've read Bonhoeffer, but never a complete biography ABOUT Bonhoeffer, so wasn't sure where to start. A friend had passed this along to me (he's an economist, though, not a historian LoL), so I thought I'd take a look at it. But if I'm going to just read one biography of Bonhoeffer, sounds like it should probably be Schlingensiepen...

Robert D. Cornwall Cliff, yes Schlingensiepen is quite good. He's not a journalist like Metaxas, but he's a life long student of Bonhoeffer's writings and friend of Eberhard Bethge, who was Bonhoeffer's close friend and primary biographer. I found it quite good and true to the Bonhoeffer I've known from his books.

Hope all's well in Oregon!! We're waiting for the rain to end.
