Sadly 1 star – Contemporary/Paranormal Romance/Romantic Suspense

This is marketed as the first book of the Dark Legacy series, but I felt like I was missing something regarding world, background, and characters. I haven’t read anything by this author previously, so maybe this is meant to be more of an extension/spin-off? Perhaps I might have enjoyed this more had I read the author’s Arcane Society books or other works beforehand. However, as a standalone read, this fell completely flat for me.

Lindsay Good review. I just looked at this in the store yesterday and considered getting it.

I have not read the Arcane Society books, so I think I'll pass on this until I read them.

I think it's supposed to be within the Arcane world but still a new/separate series with a different family/characters. But I felt lost for some reason and found it rather meh. Luckily I got it from the library because I'd have been really disappointed had I paid Hardback or Kindle price for it!

Not the Arcane, but the Harmony series she writes as Jayne Castle.
