Picked this one up at the local library b/c I was curious about how Ms. Palin approached this book. I was surprised by the sheer number of quotations and historical references in the book, most of which seemed fairly applied. She had kind words for Calvin Coolidge, among others, which is an easy way to get on my good side.

I do wish that Ms. Palin could hide her resentment of elites a bit more. Reagan would have described them as misguided; Palin seems to hint that they're just vindictive.

I am not sure why the Left started hating Sarah Palin so vehemently, so quickly. And while this is a mostly optimistic, positive book about bedrock values, I suspect that most of her detractors who read this book will not change their opinion of her. And, for the life of me, it doesn't seem like she cares about that fact. For a politician who may seek national office, it is awfully peculiar.
