  rating: 4 of 5 stars<br/>You've heard of Chick lit? Well, this is a bloke's book. This is one of those books where you have to smile to yourself or else you find yourself laughing out loud and saying "Yes. That's right. That's me. That's what I do." This is great fun. Music, relationships, music, work (as long as it involves music), music, and did I mention that it is about music? For guys (like me) that are obsessed with music, whose musical taste is impeccable (and vastly superior to almost everyone else's except for a few mates) this book will help you get a little perspective on life. No, don't worry it won't try to convince you that music is not the centre of the world (HUGE sighs of relief all around) - you know that it is - but it will give you hope because it makes you realise that you can in fact incorporate other people into your life. They may even like Phil Collins, Brittney Spears, or Celine Dion etc. and it doesn't matter!!! (You do not have to put them in your collection or on your i-pod so you won't be contaminated).
<br/>Witty throughout. Perceptive. Funny, fuzzy and funky. This is by far my favourite Hornby book because it is so much more about me than his others (I'm not a big football fan, womaniser or charity worker). Hornby has one basic thesis: Blokes are obsessive. It could be music (this one) sport (Fever Pitch) an inability to maintain a relationship largely because of a fear of commitment (About a Boy) or DIY (not yet released , come on Nick there's a gap there) - if you are a bloke you are obsessed. From this simple observation mr. Hornby has done very well, thank you very much, and entertained millions like myself along the way. Come on blokes, give it a go! Chicks, if you want to try and understand your music-obsessed man a little better, this is almost a how-to guide.
