A deep thought provoking book. It kept me feeling emotions that perhaps I didn't want to as I felt the fear and all the other emotions of the two captives. The little boy Jack is a sweet endearing little boy but he knows and understands nothing of the world. You see it all from his prospective and his prospective is an interesting take on everything that is going on.
Emma Donoghue has gotten completely into the mind of this child and amazing feat for any author. This book is like that news on the television that you don't really want to see but you can not turn yourself away from.It shows how people try to make everything as normal as possible even in great tragedy as the mother struggles to make all normal for her son and succeeds as best she can.
